Review of the HP Laptop 15s-eq1156ur inexpensive office laptop
The HP Laptop 15s-eq1156ur is a new laptop from a well-known manufacturer, which belongs to the segment of budget devices. It is well suited for simple jobs, such as performing office tasks in the traditional programs. For games or more powerful products laptop will not be suitable, because its “stuffing” simply will not allow you to download everything properly.
Design and ergonomics
The graphite grey laptop has some bulges. The roughened surface features a fine, specific pattern. The device is only 18.5 mm thick, which is quite small, but not record-breaking. Due to the presence of the feet, the figure rises to 21.5 mm. The rear of the case is thicker than the front.
The main material is plastic. On the one hand, it makes the laptop quite light and easy to carry. On the other hand, the durability of the device leaves much to be desired. Around the display there are restrictive frames. The side ones occupy 6 mm, the top one is 13,5 mm, because it includes the camera and microphones. The bottom frame occupies 19 mm.
The design is not particularly original. The camera does not have a shutter, but there is an indicator showing whether it is functioning or not. Inside under the bezel on the sides are the antennas of the Wi-Fi adapter. The back cover has ventilation holes, so it’s not recommended to place the laptop on a soft surface.
The notebook can open up to 140 degrees. The design features a sturdy locking mechanism to keep it in position. To open the notebook, it is necessary to hold the bottom with one hand and pull the cover up with the other, while holding the fingers by the special ledge in the middle of the cover.
On the back left there is a power supply connection port with corresponding indicators as well as two USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A ports. To the left are HDMI, USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C and white LEDs showing the status of the drive and power supply. Closer to the front here are the audio jack and SD reader.
The keys feature an island arrangement. In general, the keyboard is full-size, but there is no backlighting. There is a side indentation of up to 9mm. The keys are the traditional notebook size with adequate spacing. There is a full-fledged number pad.
Display and innards
The laptop functions with an IPS screen, which has a diagonal of 15.6 inches and a resolution of 1920×1080. There are no anti-reflective coatings and filters. The surface of the screen itself is matte and quite rigid. The brightness limit leaves much to be desired – 257 cd/sqm. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight.
The battery capacity is 41Wh. When working with texts, the battery life is just over 9 hours. For video playback, the battery lasts for 6.5 hours. It’s better to set the screen to medium or minimum brightness for a longer battery life.
The new HP Laptop 15s-eq1156ur is powered by an AMD Athlon Gold 3150U dual-core processor. Its base frequency is 2.4GHz. An AMD Radeon Graphics processor with 3 cores and clocked at 1000MHz is also present. The RAM capacity is up to 32GB DDR4-2400.
